Inland m1 carbine serial number lookup2/19/2023 ![]() ![]() ![]() The overall condition is quite good and the finish on the various components is nearly 100% with only a few handling marks a couple of tiny spots of corrosion on the barrel. It does appear to be a restoration as some of the parts have been refinished and there are some adjustable sight stake marks just barely visible beneath the 2-position "flip sight". The Inland marked barrel is correct and appropriately dated "10-43". ![]() This carbine has all Inland marked components appropriate to the time of manufacture. Apparently Saginaw inadvertently duplicated the serial numbers of some receivers that were manufactured by Inland and thus the "X" was added to avoid having two weapons with the exact same number. This indicates that the receiver was actually manufactured by Saginaw for Inland. The receiver is also marked "SG" on the left side, below the wood line. This carbine is unusual in that the serial number is followed by an "X" suffix. M1 Carbine that was manufactured by Inland in late 1943. ![]()
